The current federal table (still called the 2010 ADA Standards)
These are the minimum accessible-space counts in 2010 ADA Standards §208.2 for a general parking facility. The Department of Justice still uses this table when a lot is restriped. North Carolina's 2024 State Building Code Chapter 11 Table 1106.2 lists the same numbers. Van-accessible spaces are then taken from that total at 1 per 6 accessible spaces (§208.2.4). Later ADA rules about websites do not change these counts.
| Total spaces | Minimum accessible |
|---|---|
| 1 to 25 | 1 |
| 26 to 50 | 2 |
| 51 to 75 | 3 |
| 76 to 100 | 4 |
| 101 to 150 | 5 |
| 151 to 200 | 6 |
| 201 to 300 | 7 |
| 301 to 400 | 8 |
| 401 to 500 | 9 |
| 501 to 1,000 | 2% of total |
| 1,001 and over | 20, plus 1 for each 100 (or fraction) over 1,000 |
If the year 2010 looks outdated, it is not. 2010 is the name of the current federal standard, and there is no newer DOJ parking-count table.
What this calculator does not decide
Local fire officials in Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem, and the rest of the Triad can add fire-lane width and marking rules on top of ADA. Medical occupancies use a higher percentage of patient and visitor spaces. An existing lot that was striped years ago may fail on faded paint, missing van signs, or a route that no longer reaches the entrance — even if the stall count was right when it was first laid out.
Atlas audits the full layout so striping and signage agree. We do not quote prices from this table. Call (336) 662-3312 or request a free on-site estimate.
